Bloggers Galore
Blogging had become the new phenomena throughout the world. I find its a wonderful way of communicating with people that you might otherwise not know and learn lots of wonderful information. I have always loved perusing food blogs because you know that people have tasted these foods and they are good. Blogging is almost like having a friend tell you an opinion on something. Educational blogs seem to be no different. There is lots of wonderful information about technology in classrooms. I looked at four different educational blogs and found something interesting and new in each of them. Many of the articles talk about different situations when people use technology in the wrong way. They are very easy to find especially while navigating the resources the class was provided with. I was surprised by how many people had little to no educational background but that new a lot about technology to let their statements out. Blogging seems to be a new add on to the first amendment right, freedom to speech. These blogs would be a wonderful source for any teacher. Many people post different effective ways of teaching and their own personal experiences of horrible instances. In my teaching I will be able to effectively know what teaching methods are useful and which are bad without using them. I think blogging is a wonderful source of information.

It was interesting to see the different educational background people had for educational bloggers. I preferred educational blogs with activities verses a classroom daily life expereince journal, although both have something to offer us future educators.
ReplyDeleteThis is my firt time checking out any type of blog. I like that there are so many different blogs out there, and people can chare many differetn ideas and experiences. I really enjoy blogs and I think that I will start to look up different blogs that deal with different interested of mine. I checked out the blog that you are following, assortedstuff.com/top101/, it was really cool I think that you pick a cool blog to follow. I look forward to reading about what you find.
ReplyDeleteKathryn- I agree with you that blogging can be a wonderful source of information through a variety of different interests. I also located several blogs on teaching technology that weren't written by educators...interesting. Maybe we should read what they write to get ideas!
ReplyDeleteKathryn, I admit that I too am a blog follower. I usually follow blogs from friends, but your food blogging sounds like a great idea... you can't ever have too many delicious recipes. The blogs I found were kept up by educators or technology experts, so I found it interesting that you found the opposite. The blog link on the website you posted to follow does seem full of useful advice for using technology in the classroom and it even contains information on education, good find!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am a bit uncomfortable/unfamiliar with the whole blogging thing, I agree with you. It is an amazingly efficient and interesting way to share information and I think it probably works great for teachers. They can share what works and what doesn't from personal experiences. I think that it will be helpful to view the opinions and experiences of classmates to make sure we are all on the right track!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am new to blogging I agree with you that it is a great way to share and gain information on everything from food to technology. The blogs that I browsed held a lot of information that will be helpful for when I get into a classroom. It is nice being able to read about someone else's experiences to help limit the problems you may have yourself :)... especially with technology constantly changing.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the website you'll be following and realized it was one I looked at as well. Have you gone to the Exploratorium link under the science section? It is amazing. I'll give you my opinion, and say that it's worth it. :)
